After GP Training
Congratulations on completing your GP training! Once you have had your final ARCP review and been put forwards to complete training (achieving your CCT), you need to apply for your CCT with the GMC and update your Performer’s List status.
There are many opportunities for GPs in East Sussex, including in GP surgeries, urgent treatment centres and working alongside hospital services (for example in community specialist clinics).
There are local First5 groups based in both Eastbourne and Hastings, which help provide ongoing education and peer support after completing your training. In addition to this, there is the possibility to take up a post-CCT fellowship – typically 2 days in primary care, 2 days with a specialist service and 1 day protected educational time. To find out more about this, contact the East Sussex Training Hub with this email: eslt-traininghub@nhs.net
You can also find local job listings on the Surrey and Sussex LMC page here: https://www.sslmcs.co.uk/jobs
Once you have completed training, you also will need to participate in revalidation and appraisal processes. Read more about this on the RCGP website here (https://www.rcgp.org.uk/training-exams/practice/revalidation.aspx) and here is a handy article about it from GP Online: https://www.gponline.com/preparing-first-appraisal-gp/article/1436578
